(1) Yes, we have rehabilitation therapy. We provide occupational, physical, and speech therapies in our Sub-Acute Rehab Unit, Rejuvenation Bay. The availability depends upon the physician’s recommendations in association with the Resident’s physical need. Our therapists work diligently to maintain and improve the physical function of our Residents.
(2) The Activity Department provides many exciting activities for all of the Residents. Once a month, the Resident’s council meets with the Activity Director to decide upon the outings and excursions for the following month. Frequent trips include going out for meal, shopping, bowling, and attending sports or concert events. Various activities within the facility includes arts and crafts, bingo, music appreciation, sing-along, and birthday parties. Activity Department staff members are committed to keeping the Residents active and interested. Click here and find out what is going on this month!
(3) We offer a wide range of religious services for those Residents of the Catholic , Protestant services, and Jewish faiths. Catholic Mass and Protestant Services are held in the facility frequently during the month, while Bible classes are also provided. In addition, we can arrange for special visits to the facility by members of the Resident’s own church or synagogue. Sheridan also provides a chaplain to meet our resident's spiritual needs.
(4) Our licensed dietitian oversees the preparation of all meals and ensures that they follow the Resident’s prescribed diet. A Resident always has the option to request a substitute meal. Barbecues are planned often during the summer. We have recently introduced a new program, the Pioneer Program, which has enabled the Residents to have they choice of when they eat, what they eat, and how much they want to eat. The program is based solely on Resident’s choice. They get to choose from a buffet-style selection of hot and cold foods. See how much our Resident’s enjoy this program.
(5) Many factors are considered before a Resident is placed into a room. The level of care, Resident’s age, and compatibility with others all play a significant role in the decision-making process.
(6) The cost rates include comprehensive nursing care, three meals per day with snacks, laundry, housekeeping services, and in-house activities.
(7) Yes, we have a wonderful Special Care Unit for Alzheimer’s and other dementia Residents. We have a Sub-Acute Rehabilitation Unit for short-term rehab Residents. We have recently opened a six chair hemodialysis unit run by Fresenius, which can meet the needs of 24 residents needing dialysis. We can also provide express admissions and wound care.
